All the best events and activities in Bridgeport, WV
Sept 14–20, 2026 · Issue #08Fall officially arrives next week, and this week already feels like it: the Indians are 2-1 and hitting the road Friday, the library has rolled out its fall lineup, and Saturday morning belongs to one of Bridgeport's longest-running traditions, the FBI Jerry Dove Memorial 5K out at the CJIS complex. Add a brand-new coffee shop opening on West Main Friday morning, a Harley dealership throwing a bike party and a Sunday afternoon of 1960s hits at the Robinson Grand, and it's a full week for a "quiet" one.
As always, everything below is what we could confirm as of Sunday evening. If something changed after we hit send, the organizer's link on each card is your best friend.
Heads-up: Race-morning start times, registration cutoffs and RSVP deadlines can shift at the last minute. Please confirm details with the organizer before you head out the door.
★ This Week's Featured Event ★

FBI Jerry Dove Memorial 5K
Every September, Bridgeport runners, walkers, stroller-pushers and a whole lot of law enforcement families gather on the FBI CJIS grounds for the Jerry Dove Memorial 5K. The race honors Special Agent Jerry Dove, a West Virginia native killed in the line of duty in Miami in 1986, and it is dedicated to every officer, firefighter and service member who died serving. Hosted by the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association, it is one of the few chances all year to run the normally closed CJIS campus - the course is flat, fast and scenic.
How locals do it: Register online ahead of time and grab your packet at the Holiday Inn Express (20 Sweetbrier Lane) so you can skip the line. Race-day registration runs 7:00 to 8:30 AM at the Visitor Center if you decide Saturday morning. Get there early - security screening at the gate takes a few minutes, and parking fills up. Walkers are welcome, and kids love the post-race snacks and the chance to see the FBI's shiny vehicles up close. Bring a photo ID.
