Oct 19–25, 2026 · Issue #13Halloween is just around the corner, and Bridgeport is already getting into the spirit. The week is stacked with trunk-or-treats, costume contests and spooky library nights, with the Bridgeport Farmers & Makers Market closing out its season in style on Friday. Scarecrow voting is still open on Connect-Bridgeport through Oct 30, so cast your vote for your favorite along the way.

BFM² Fall Fest "After Hours" Market
5:30–8:30 PM · 100 Marketplace Ave, Charles Pointe, Bridgeport
The Bridgeport Farmers & Makers Market closes out its season with a Friday-night Fall Fest, and it looks like the week's biggest community gathering. Come in costume (family-friendly, please) and check in around 5:30 for the costume contest, with voting starting around 7. Carve a pumpkin at home, bring it ready to display and enter it when you arrive; the crowd votes on site. Winners take home BFM² Cash for next season's market plus gift cards from local businesses. Expect cornhole, fire pits, local vendors and food, and music with Josh Folmsbee on the mic.
Insider tip: the market posted a reminder this week to bring your carved pumpkins on Friday, so plan to carry yours in rather than carving on site. Dress warm for the fire pits, and eat early or bring cash for the food vendors.
