Nov 2–8, 2026 · Issue #15
Clocks fell back this weekend, and the week ahead is built around Election Day on Tuesday, Nov 3, when polls are open and schools are closed. With Veterans Day arriving next Wednesday, there is a sweet way to say thanks all week long at The Bridge, plus a big week for Bridgeport soccer.
The week builds toward a busy Saturday, Nov 7, with a world market and pet wash in Clarksburg, a fall fest in Grafton, and dinner and theater at Stonewall Resort. Here's your Sunday evening look at what's happening.
Heads up: Dates, times and details can change, so please confirm with the organizer before heading out. Football playoff pairings for the Bridgeport Indians were not posted when we went to press, so check bridgeportindians.com for the next game.

Bridgeport Soccer at the State Tournament
Thu, Nov 5 and Sat, Nov 7 · Cline Stadium, YMCA Paul Cline Memorial Sports Complex, Beckley
Both Bridgeport soccer teams are into the Class AAA state semifinals. The #2-seeded boys face #3 East Fairmont on Thursday at 12:30 PM, and the #3-seeded girls take on #2 Greenbrier East on Thursday at 7:30 PM (times are tentative and depend on the games before them). Winners advance to the championship games Saturday: boys at 10:30 AM and girls at 1:00 PM.
Beckley is a haul from Bridgeport, so plan accordingly: tickets are $10 per session or $45 for an all-session pass, and every game streams on the NFHS Network (subscription required) if you want to cheer from the couch. Wear red, and confirm times with the WVSSAC before you hit the road.
